LA EPICA GRAVEL GRINDER - PONCE, PR

This riveting 3-day gravel event will be back for a second edition in March 27-29, 2026! 

La Epica offers the opportunity to experience an array of terrains from lush riversides and picturesque rural vistas, to expansive agricultural fields, vibrant urban locales and beautiful ocean views as you ride through the southern municipalities of Ponce, Juana Díaz, Santa Isabel, and Salinas. 

This is a ride unlike any other, with over 150 km and 60% gravel backroads, you won't want to miss out! It certainly lives up to its name: EPIC! 

Here’s what to expect: 

GRAVEL CRIT EXHIBITION: 

Kick off the weekend on Friday afternoon with an adrenaline-filled 5K loop criterium. Fast-paced, spectator-friendly, and the perfect way to start the action. 

LA EPICA GRAVEL GRINDER® - COMPETITIVE CATEGORIES:      

Built for experienced riders ready to perform at a high level, the competitive format is a two-day stage race designed to test endurance, strategy, and speed across southern Puerto Rico.

• Stage 1 (Saturday): 113 KM 
• Stage 2 (Sunday): 154 KM 

Routes depart from the Hilton Ponce Golf & Casino Resort, heading toward Santa Isabel and Salinas, and feature a challenging combination of coastal gravel sectors, backroads, and mixed terrain.

To qualify for cash prizes, riders must complete both stages. This category is fully competitive and awards top overall and category performances.

GRAVEL CHALLENGE - NON-COMPETITVE CATEGORIES: 

Created for riders ages 13+ who want to experience La Épica without racing, this category offers flexibility while still delivering the full gravel adventure.

Participants ride along the same scenic routes as the competitive field, starting from the Hilton Ponce Golf & Casino Resort and exploring the southern coast through Santa Isabel and Salinas, with a mix of gravel, paved backroads, and varied terrain.

• Saturday Option: 91 KM 
• Sunday Option: 105 KM 
• Riders may choose to participate in one or both days 

This is a non-competitive experience. Participants receive finisher medals only and are not eligible for cash prizes or podium awards.

E-bikes are permitted exclusively in non-competitive categories.
